TAX ON SECURITIES ACCOUNTS

Many times announced and postponed, the tax on securities accounts finally came into force on March 10, 2018. Although the applicable rate is still moderate (0.15%), this tax on estate has the unfortunate consequence of integrating in Belgian tax law the principle of a wealth tax. Far from being free from criticism in terms of constitutional law principles, this tax applies to both resident and non-resident individuals. The latter may, however, avoid its application if their country of residence concluded a double taxation convention with Belgium regulating the wealth tax

PhD

Date : 13/03/2018

Kevin Munungu has successfully defended his PhD at Université libre de Bruxelles. His thesis focused on the introduction of the managerial logic within courts regarding the role of the judges in the Belgian constitutional system. The thesis was written under the overall supervision of Professors Julie Allard and Marc Uyttendaele. The jury was chaired by Benoît Frydman and consisted of Elaine Mak, Christine Matray and Frédéric Schoenaers.
